This year I will be converting from a basil reading curriculum to a reading workshop model. This means students will gather on the carpet for reading mini lessons instead of sitting in their desks for the whole class period. Too many times our students are confined to their desks and not allowed to move throughout the day.
It is my hope that the all my students will become comfortable learners. The flexible seating options of the wobble chairs will allow my students to be actively engaged in learning. The figit bands would also allow me to accommodate for all my students's individual learning needs. My classroom is my students's home away from home. Having a lovely carpet to sit on to read during our independent reading time would also give the students the
sense of community and comfort.
