We teach in a brand new school in Bayside Queens (opened in 2017) which services an area that is greatly over crowded. Our school was built to try and alleviate some of the over crowding in nearby elementary schools. Due to being new and still growing with a very small staff, we are not very well funded.
We currently co-teach in a kindergarten ICT class. Our students are excited to learn, ambitious, curious, and kind. We may be small, but our motivation is HUGE! We are working hard to create lifelong learners and leaders.
The students in our class come from a variety of different cultural and socio economic backgrounds, we are truly a mixed bag! Every student, both general education and special education, brings something special and unique into the classroom.
