Our class is full of energetic, hardworking, and engaged fifth graders with diverse interests, abilities, physical/mental health needs, cultural backgrounds, and upbringing. Our classroom in three words. Creative: Students are given opportunities to be creative and express their thinking through art, film, discussions, nature exploration, science, and written work. Community: In our classroom, students see themselves as teachers and helpers. Students feel comfortable both asking and giving help in our room. Students feel valued because everyone in the room is a go-to helper for different subjects or needs. We all work hard in our classroom to ensure that everyone feels seen. Each student has value and worth in our community. Humor: We love to smile, be silly, and laugh together. It makes learning more freeing and fun.
