The use of personal bins and mailboxes in our classroom is essential to teaching organizational skills. We use tables, so there isn't any space for my students to keep their books, notebooks and folders. I am teaching them how to begin to be responsible for their supplies and work. Taking responsibility leads to feeling proud of their accomplishments.
I am creating a culture for learning in a positive environment. Having students from 8 different countries within my classroom, the use of personal bins and mailboxes is a universal way to keep all of their hard work together. This way there are less interruptions and missing assignments so we can focus on the really important things.....learning and growing.
