My Project: On May 20, 2013, when the tornado came through our community, we realized where our school lacked in safety. Around 2:00pm, parents fearing the weather starting arriving at school to check their students out. Around the same time, we realized our intercom system was not working. We had to use two-way radios to relay information down the hallways of our school. Our system of having one radio for every grade level created more confusion than we anticipated and kept our school from having the best communication possible.
We need a two way radio in every classroom in our school to help provide safety for our students in any emergency situation that may occur. This project starts with two radios as other teachers from our school will be requesting more to complete our need.
