Our students will study interdependent relationships in ecosystem as pertaining to our Common Core Science and Language Art Standards. We will be learning about farm animals and the important jobs they do for us. We will be exploring these animals in their habitats. We will note the interrelationship between habitats and make comparisons. We will use the experience to make deeper connections to texts and writing in the classroom.
Our students will benefit from experiences and lessons that will enhance their understanding and create new perspectives.
This project will enable our students to participate in the Farmyard Exploration program at Pineland Farms, and this project also provides round trip transportation for this field trip.
While at the farm, students will make observations and interact with a variety of farm animals, will compare the different habitats, and make conclusions about our dependence on farm animals. They will bring their experiences from the farm back to the classroom in their writing, deeper conversations about texts and science activities.
