Hello and thank you for taking the time to view my page. I am a third grade teacher in a very low income school district. My students mean a lot to me and they deserve just as much of a chance as those students who attend well funded schools. My students come from a variety of backgrounds as many schools do, but with my students, many of them come to school as a way to have something stable, consistent and safe. 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. We also have many donors who provide more food to ensure students and families get to eat during breaks and weekends. I also see the value in teaching these students not just the basics to get them by and have a job when they graduate, but to teach them to grasp concepts and to teach themselves, and to provide them with technology they will need to learn to be prepared for the world when they are on their own and facing new technology.
