We are in need of more books for students to take home to read in the evening to their parents. My students will see these books added to their take home pouches on a daily basis. They will be reading them with a parent or older brother or sister each evening. They will return them each day to receive a sticker for their chart and exchange the book for a new one. This will make a huge difference in their lives! They will be so excited that we have new books so they don't have to reread some of the older ones quite so often.
Students will be reading their book every evening to a parent or sibling. This will provide many positive outcomes. Students will benefit from the reading practice, and parents will benefit from the time spent listening to their child read. This also sets up a positive, consistent activity that each child will do every evening, READ!
