Children all need a good foundation in developing gross motor skills. Students can build balance and body coordination with the use of a balance beam, pop squeak jumper, and hopscotch carpet. This gross motor skill impacts a child's ability to sit upright at a desk for a length of time. Using a scooter board increases a student's core affecting overall core balance and upper arm strength. In order to practice eye hand coordination, classroom activities can include ring toss, swing and catch cups, mini basketballs, and mini bowling set. Activity mats allow students to focus on individual movements.
Children will balance, scoot, skip, hop, jump, squat and stretch their way to coordination and physical fitness.
Donating to my project you will not only help to improve and increase student gross motor movement, you will ultimately help increase their ability to successfully carry out everyday tasks in and out of the classroom.
