Beginning writers need lots of practice. Gone are the days of classrooms full of chalk smoke from practicing their penmanship on a dusty chalkboard. Welcome to my active first grade classroom where beginning writers still need lots of practice but when it comes to active engagement, nothing beats a quality classroom dry erase board. Not all dry erase boards and pens are created equally. Some erase poorly and don't hold up. I need a class set of quality boards and pens that can handle the daily use by a 6 year old..
Dry erase boards allow me to engage every student in every lesson. I know who is grasping the concepts. Students love them because they're fun and mistakes can easily be corrected. Teams can brainstorm and record answers. Dry erase boards are easy to use and store. No batteries and no plugs. Less paper usage and grading but the students benefit from the added practice.
Writing can be tedious for small fingers just learning proper grasp. I am purchasing some fidget toys for those students that need some sensory input in a less distracting way. Some students have anxiety when approached with writing tasks and require a small fidget toy to calm them and boost their learning. By supporting my project you are helping to make the learning process more fun as well as supporting the level of engagement between myself and my students. Keep calm and write on!
