Chromebooks are very beneficial to students in the classroom for many reasons. One of the most essential benefits would be the students' ability to conduct research. In the gifted and talented classroom, students excel with project based learning. In order for project based learning to be successful though, students need the ability to research. After researching and gathering all the information needed, students use the Chromebooks for typing papers, creating Google Slides, and interacting with one another on Google Classroom.
Technology is such a major part of our society, it is essential for our most gifted and talented students to have as much exposure to computers in the classroom as possible. Students are more engaged and remember more when they are able to view something in real life. Since that isn't always possible, virtual field trips are the next best thing. With more electronics in the classroom, students can explore virtual field trips on their own and at their own pace.
Computers in the classroom open up so many possibilities for students. There is so much focus on helping students that are struggling that the gifted and talented students are often overlooked. They are just as important and deserve to have the best education possible. Having more computers in the classroom is one of the best resources we can provide for our future leaders of tomorrow.
