When I began my teaching career, I was so nervous about being in middle school. I'd heard some pretty scary things and even got lots of funky looks from more people than I'd like to admit when I proudly announced that I would be teaching 6th graders. I'm so glad that I stuck it out though, because if I hadn't, I wouldn't know the joy of being an educator, nor would I have crossed paths with some of the most amazing people I've ever met. They are smart, kind, thoughtful, inquisitive, and frankly, some of the strongest kids I've ever encountered. They are so deserving of every good thing that will ever come their way! When I count my blessings, I count my amazing students twice!
