My 10th grade students will be reading and analyzing The Tempest by William Shakespeare this upcoming school year. This play is full of interesting and colorful characters including a court jester, a magician, a ghostly spirit, the son of a witch, a king, and a prince.
The graphic novel version of The Tempest will help my students comprehend the complex plot of Shakespeare's play by keeping them engaged in the text. This version of the play includes the original text. This will help my struggling students to gain a better grasp of the text allowing every student to have the proper scaffolding to analyze the text while still remaining true to the original text.
