I teach 6th grade bilingual students in Wisconsin. These days we are asked to do way more with much less and with way fewer educators and support staff.
I’ve decided to create various projects from a wish list in hopes that community members who are able to, may want to help through anonymous acts of kindness. It’s the first time in 20 some years of teaching I’ve reached out for assistance after many years of paying out of my pocket. Thus, it falls heavy on my heart to even have to do so.
Our school laminator does not work very well to preserve items. Students aren’t able to afford many of the listed school supplies, come to school hungry or unable to attend field trips due to lack of funds. If you can find something similar on my list at a lower cost, offer a portion of costs to supply snacks, etc. my students and I would be equally as appreciative.
