My students are special education students who are getting ready to transition into the real world. They attend a Title 1 school where a majority of the students receive a free breakfast and lunch. Most of their parents do not have access to community resources, so as educators we try to do as much as we can until they age out of our schools. Despite all of these negatives, my students are willing and ready to learn new skills. They are also excited and willing to work hard.
This year I announced we were going to plant our first garden and they were so excited that they would take skills they learned last year and apply them on a larger scale. As soon as we receive the requested items we will be ready to begin.
By donating these items to my class it will also free up funds for other activities in the classroom such as cooking.
Thank you for your support. We cannot wait to begin planting our garden!
