Outside the windows of our classroom is a fast paced world full of opportunities to move and wiggle as we will. Flexible seating options offer students the opportunity to Wiggle While They Work. Research has found that flexible seating in classrooms allows students to burn more calories, use up excess energy, increase motivation and engagement, create better oxygen flow to the brain, and improve core strength and overall posture. In addition, physical activity is linked to higher education performance, better health, and improved behavior. This simple in-class change in seating can boost performance in students who struggle with staying focused during work time.
