My students are 9-12th graders that do not work well in a mainstream class. They come to our school when they have too many referrals and suspensions at their home school. Some are here for anger issues and truancy. Some are below grade level because of their time out of school due to behavior issues.
Our school is a safe environment where students come to learn. We have smaller classroom sizes due to the behavior issues of the students who come here. I am better able to give individual attention to students because of the lower class size. My students learn better when they are engaged in the books they read. The students here just need a little extra attention to succeed. When the students here successfully complete the program, they go back to their home school.
