At Leake Central Elementary, the students are blessed to have music class on a seven day rotation along with art, 3 computer labs, health, and PE. I see each grade level every day and the classes repeat every 7 days. If I see them on Monday, I will not see them again until that next Wednesday. When I teach I make the most out of each class everyday!
My room is attached to the multipurpose room and stage where they have PE and Health class. I do not have any windows or natural light of any kind. I try to add as much color and musical topics to fill the room with life and excitement! I add positive sayings to encourage them to live improved lives.
The students use hand bells, boomwhackers, xylophones, and percussion instruments in class while learning rhythms, note names, and all things musically. I also use co-curricular topics so my students learn life skills and other information to be successful young people.
