I work to support gifted students primarily in grades 2-5 in three schools in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma: Timber Ridge elementary, Highland Park elementary, and Oak Crest Elementary. My students are just as diverse as the schools I serve. They come from a variety of cultural, language, and socio-economic backgrounds. They are served in the regular classroom but sometimes find themselves bored or lacking growth because they already know the standards that are being taught at their grade level. I work very hard to try to support my students and their teachers by developing activities that will help to increase the depth and complexity of their learning in order to challenge them. My mission is so important because gifted students often become disengaged from education when they are not offered challenging curriculum and activities that help them to grow and develop to their potential.
