My students are primarily freshmen and seniors and are of varying ability levels. Forty-one percent of students in my very small and very rural school come from low-income households. Approximately 40% of them are considered to be ready for college coursework according to state testing. Although my students are rather sheltered because they are able to grow up in a very rural and safe community, they are hungry to learn more about their own community and the world beyond it. They are hard workers who have great plans for their futures.
