First graders are one of my favorite ages to teach, because they are just learning to read and watching them take off is amazing! It's especially rewarding where I work, because many students don't have books at home or parents who read with them. Every day in the classroom makes a difference in their lives, and I love coming to work seeing their bright, smiling faces.
