I have started to use different building "toys" for my students to explore. After watching them and their creativity I have discovered that I should be allowing them more time and opportunities to explore, build and create. My vision is to create something bigger and better than what we are already doing. I would like to have a whole center in which the students can use different materials to develop skills such as communication, problem solving, and critical thinking. I will put these materials along with others that I already have, where they can discover and create.
Using these building materials will help the students discover how magnets work (Picasso tiles). The wooden blocks will be fun for them to see what they can build with a partner. Each of these materials connect in different ways and they will have the chance to explore that together or independently. I will set the timer so they can visually see how much time they will have to explore.
