The Chromebooks that I am requesting will serve multiple purposes in the classroom. We will use them to integrate digital technology into our Math, English Language Arts, Science and Social Studies curriculums through online programs such as Google Classroom, XtraMath, Study Island, Scholastic, ReadTheory, Accelerated Reader, and Zearn. Furthermore, we will develop writing skills by learning to type, plan, research and publish work online. Additionally, students will begin to develop the computer skills needed in order to successfully complete state testing. This is critical in the state that I teach, because students must pass these online tests in order to be promoted to the next grade level. Due to lack of resources in my school, my students are currently only able to access computer technology twice a week for 40 minutes. Having Chromebooks in the classroom will allow my students to have daily experiences with computer technology, enrich classroom instruction and prepare them for future education.
