This project was started to create a classroom library that reflects the interests and abilities of my students. Since moving schools and grades, I am in need of highly engaging texts for my students that will foster a love of reading. Books matter. Students need books that reflect themselves and books that can teach them something new. I have carefully chosen texts that serve as windows and mirrors for students. "Amina's Voice" is one I hope will resonate with my Muslim and non-Muslim students. I have also selected a wide range of graphic novels, nonfiction texts, and poetry so all students can find something they're interested in and challenged by.
