I teach middle school emotional support. We are going back to school 100% IN PERSON! A majority of money is being spent on PPE. My students cannot share any items or play games together. They will need items to keep them safe and engaged during the day.
Usually I buy items that are required in their IEP (such as theraputty) to share among the class. NOTHING can be shared this year. Every child will need their own pencil box of supplies. Unfortunately, almost every child is from a low-income household and they do not come to school with supplies. My school often times buys bookbags and coats for the kids.
I have also asked for several food items. On a normal day, my kids are hungry. On a Monday, my kids are starving. I can only imagine how they are going to show up after being home for 6 months...
