I have a very special group of students. They are all talented and excited when it comes to learning new things. We begin our day every day with the mantra: I am strong, I am smart, we are all equal. They say each line together as a class and enjoy this time of the day. I want each of them to have faith in themselves and see themselves as I do. Each one is special and has so much to offer the world. I teach students from kindergarten through sixth grade. My students are English Language Learning students. They come to me from all over the world speaking many different languages. Having to learn a new language while also adjusting to a new school and making new friends is challenging, but although my students come with these obstacles in their path they are able to enjoy learning and remind me of the joys as well.
