I teach at a suburban school in the southwest area of the United States. I generally have between 30-32 students in my 5th-grade class. We use hands-on materials to learn about the world around us.
My classroom is a diverse blend of learners who come to my classroom with a variety of skills and abilities. Not only do we diligently work on academic subjects, such as reading, writing, math, and science, but we also focus on social skills, such as being a good friend, showing kindness to others, and helping out our community. At the end of each school year, my students have grown into accomplished learners ready to tackle the challenges that await them in life.
