Remember the feeling of getting lost in a good book? How about snuggling up with a book during a storm?
I want my students to fall in love with a book! We are in need of our own classroom library to make it easy for students to link what they are learning to the books that they are reading. We are going to used the leveled readers to create a section in our classroom library for students to check out books that correlate to their individual reading level. Because I want students to challenge themselves, I have also included books that are positive and relevant to today's culture-- this books will be checked out by any student regardless of their reading level. I can also use this books as mentor texts for each of lessons and units. I will use the classroom work organizer to have students organize the recommendations that they write after they complete one of the books from the library-- this will help keep the love and excitement of a book going!
My students and school were affected by the devastation of hurricane Harvey and I want to bringing some positive into their lives through good books. Help my students find the book that they love!
