The materials in this project will enhance my classroom by allowing students to have hands on opportunities to build and create. The materials support the learning profiles of students in my classroom. They are eager to think outside the box, create, imagine and fail forward. The items in this project include many building items such as Tinker Toys, magnetic tiles, Jenga, and brain flakes. They do not come with a "must do" guide for students to follow, instead they allow students to use their own creativity to build structures, write stories, make words, and imagine. With these materials, students will be given the chance to think freely and creatively while strengthening their confidence, defending their own ideas and becoming inventors. The materials will become a regular part of our day rather than just a special privilege when the materials are available. Students will work on social emotional skills such as relationship building, communication, conflict resolution and self awareness.
