The children in my school are some of the brightest minds in the state of Florida. My own classes have consistently ranked in the top 1% of test scores for the Florida Comprehensive Achievement Test, in mathematics, over the course of the last decade. Over 50% of my school population is classified as gifted and that makes the job infinitely harder. Located in one of the most economically impoverished neighborhoods in the city, I struggle to make math, science and engineering relevant to my classes. These kids deserve the best and I'm hoping this year I can give it to them.
