Hello. I'm one of the science teachers at e3 Civic High School. We are a public, charter school located in the new library in the heart of downtown San Diego. At e3 we serve an ethnically diverse student population where roughly 63% qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch and 29% are English Learners. The majority of the students come from nearby the school and have limited to no experience with outdoors or natural spaces.
Currently the two courses I teach are Biology and Sustainable Urban Agriculture. The biology course is part of a Medical Pathway, where students take 4 years of science that focuses on medicine. For my Sustainable Urban Agriculture class I'm partnering with the nearby Smarts Farm.
