My classroom is an inclusive preschool program that serves children with special needs ages three to five years old in a general education classroom. The inclusion program is designed to accommodate the needs of all learners by collaborating with a special education specialist and the general education teacher.
The inclusion program teaches young children about diversity, empathy, and friendships with peers with a disability.
Our school strongly believes that young children learn through play and positive adult-child interactions. When children are playing in the dramatic area, they are learning social skills, developing language, and learning to problem solve with their peers.
There is a lot of learning taking place in preschool. Using intentional teaching, facilitation, and scaffolding my students are learning through play.
Preschool is the foundation for lifelong academic success!
