My class is simply amazing. The students come from diverse backgrounds, a quarter from non English speaking homes. Our Northwest Oklahoma rural, agricultural community experienced tremendous financial loss this year through unprecedented ice storms and wildfires. Our state continue to struggle in poverty with no hope for increase revenue in the near future. Despite these hardships, our school and community keep a positive attitude and we work together to make our school excellent. My students are resilient. And our classroom is a safe, happy, exciting environment where learning is fun! Hands on manipulatives are the best way to learn for any kindergarten student, but they are especially beneficial to our non English speaking learners. When funds are low and life is hard, sometimes we need a little help from our friends across the nation. Thank you for considering our project.
