Project-based learning is powerful and provides context for new concepts, increases motivation, and enhances retention of knowledge. It’s also much more fun.Donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of authentic, meaningful, and real world application of text based programming. I love teaching programming, regardless if a program is object or text based the logic remains unchanged. Students spend 9 weeks learning programming logic and object based programming to build 2d video games. The Raspberry Pi is one of the most versatile and understated computing platforms on the market.
This credit-card-sized piece of tech can be outfitted and turned into a low-budget light show, media center PC and a classic gaming station.
My vision for the 2nd nine weeks is expose students to text based programming, through Python, and allow students to choose their Rasberry Pi Project to build and program: 1) a Christmas light show set to music (Computing Kit) . 2) A retro gaming console (Gaming Kit) 3) Selfie Photobooth (Media Kit). By implementing Pi project’s into my class students will see themselves as true programmers, while increasing their confidence and self-esteem. I need your support to help make my vision a reality.
