This project is important because our students have a very long day and would benefit from different healthy, tasty snacks to help them stay engaged in learning. These snacks would allow our students to have enough energy to keep on learning throughout the day and grow their brains!
If we can make sure they get a snack, they will be able to better focus and build the fundamental knowledge necessary for them to go to the next grade and continue to be successful throughout school.
This year very few of my parents were fortunate enough to be able to donate a few snacks to our classroom. Most of my families are not as fortunate, due to the low socioeconomic area for which they reside.
