I work with 6th grade students who are mainly African-American. We are a Charter School in an urban community. The students come from various backgrounds such as low-income and single family homes. Many students lack a strong mathematics background and are unmotivated in mathematics. The students are kind, sweet, and well-mannered. The only thing that the students are missing is a love for mathematics.
