These First Little Readers will help build our guided reading library to provide my students with small group instruction. I have just finished a guided reading PLC (Professional Learning Community) following Jan Richardson's model for teaching young readers. During this PLC, I learned how to level my students by reading level, create lessons based on students' needs, and how to prompt to teach reading strategies.
The curriculum the district provides does not include books at the kindergarten reading level. I have many students that need access to these leveled books in order to practice their reading strategies and grow. Please help my project get funded!
