My students are just beginning to understand the importance of science in their every day lives. They are learning that it can be fun to investigate how and why things work. Many of them are even starting to dream of careers in scientific areas. My students live in a rural and relatively poor area where education is not stressed by many families. Many of my students do not have the opportunity to visit science centers, museums, or even a zoo. School is the only place where my students can work with science tools and complete science activities. My students are inquisitive and intelligent. They have found how rewarding it can be to solve problems for themselves. This project can help to further their understanding, knowledge, and, most of all,
their excitement about science.
