Working in the poorest congressional district in the country, my students come in at a wide range of academic levels. I work in a South Bronx school where we work together to empower our students and provide them with opportunities they may not be exposed to at a Title I public school.
My students are extremely hardworking and creative, however many have large gaps in knowledge and limited resources to use.
As a teacher, I make every effort to give my students many opportunities to extend their work and thinking to higher levels and to raise the bar on their own personal expectations.
