We have a limited number of computers in our school, and access to the computer lab is scheduled and not readily available. With tablets in the classroom, a new world of research and learning becomes available. Most of my students do not have access to technology at home. Incorporating technology into our math and science classroom opens up new STEM possibilities for each of my students. The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of and competency in authentic, meaningful, hands-on learning. Routines are helpful, but it is easy for students to get tired and bored when presented with the same material in the same way. I would like my students to use these tablets to take pictures of completed assignments, complete assignments online, to record themselves "teaching," and more. Working at a performing arts school, I would like to incorporate learning across the curriculum. The students will be allowed to create scenes, plays, skits, etc. to display their learning of the math and science curriculum. These tablets are not for games, but that does not mean that they will not be used to make learning more fun than ever before!
