All students come to the classroom with a variety of of artistic abilities. It is not often enough that students are given the opportunity to bring their paper crafts to life with electricity. Chibitronics has brought a combination of arts and sciences into one project. With these STEAM tools, my students will blend paper crafts, programming, and electrical circuits.
My students will be able to see their imagination and creativity reach new heights with light, programming, and circuitry. I want my students to take what seems like just a paper based art project and develop their creativity with programming. With the LED lights, copper tape, and batteries, students will create touch based electrical circuits, but why stop there? If we also receive the Chibi Chip Microcontroller Board, students can add even more features to their paper craft. Students will be able to develop specific movements of light in their work through programming. The Microcontroller Board is the core of the creation. Whether a student wants their artwork to blink, fade, or be interactive with their viewer; all can be achieved by programming the Chibichip Microcontroller Board. Using the free code editor, my students can choose to write code using drag-and-drop block programming or take their coding skills to the next level with Arduino based computer coding. I want to see my students develop their understanding of circuitry, coding, and computational thinking through these Chibitronics tools.
