Every year, my class includes several deaf or hard of hearing students and sometimes English Language Learners as well. For these students, visual presentation of information is extremely important. My diverse group of second graders attend school in a large, urban, public school system hit by deep budget cuts. Many of my students come from economically disadvantaged homes, but they come to school with a desire to succeed and an eagerness to share what they have learned.
