My students are incredible and I'm not being biased (OK, maybe a little). They come in excited and leave with a true passion for something that most people dread - Algebra. Our school population is highly Socio-Economically Disadvantages and English Language Learners, creating an uphill battle for many of them before they even walk in the door. My students are the ones who have seen this as an opportunity to thrive and give back to the community that has tried to give everything it can. They are motivated, eclectic, caring, and unique. In our middle school, we have the typical spread of groups and "cliques". In our classroom, it is the melting pot that boils down to the expectation of success. The students who walk in skeptics leave as rockstars. I can't say enough great things about my class!
