My goals as a teacher are to create a learning environment that is both mentally stimulating and conducive to higher learning. In my Human Anatomy and Physiology class, I teach students about each of the different processes in the body and how they relate to one another to work in unison to help our body maintain homeostasis. While modern computer programs can simulate the dissection process, I feel as though 2D videos and images do not parallel the experience of holding an actual organ/ body part in the palm of your hand.
Through promoting hands-on learning I hope to give students a tangible perspective of the different physiological systems and parts. The products that I have selected will help my students to get first-hand experience working with a specimen that was previously living and has an anatomical structure similar to humans. This invaluable experience will help their lab skills that will benefit their kinesthetic skills in a future medical career. I would greatly appreciate support in obtaining these lab supplies for the upcoming school year!
