I work with inner city children. Our school has children from all over the world. In my classroom alone I have 11 different cultures represented. We have a high percentage of at-risk students in our school. We have 83% of our families are at poverty level. Each year I have at least two students who are homeless, living in a shelters. I try to take care of them the best I can like buying them things they need to be successful in school but I am only one person with 22 students. This year my class is comprised of young people who are creative, thoughtful, and eager to learn! I want to provide them with everything they need to be successful this year and absolutely ready for first grade next year. I also have about seven students in my class who do not speak english proficiently. They are ESL learners with a english proficiency learning level of 4 or 5. I would like to help these learners become proficient in english. With a donation of mini iPads and covers, I could achieve this goal.
