Many young students have stood at the fence or in the stands and have watched every move cheerleaders make. They try to learn the cheers just like them. As they get older they see a deeper side of a cheerleader. They see them have the power to lift others up, even after a bad loss. They feel a cheerleader has the power to stand up for and impact others. They start to see that cheerleaders are so much more than pom poms and dances on the sidelines.
Not only are cheerleaders inspiring but they are leaders of their school and community. Due to financial hardships there are so many that may never get to experience how cheer can truly change their lives.
