Challenging students to use their imaginations, open their minds, and find their unique style is what I do every day.
I teach Design, Ceramics 1 & 2, Advanced Ceramics, and Visual Art Journaling. My students' ages range from 14 to 18 years old.
Creativity, learning to see...TRULY SEE...to imagine, to come up with creative solutions that will carry my students far in life. Whether it be English, Science, or Math - all require creative problem-solving methods.
I tell my students, "If you become better artists during my class, that would be great. Ultimately, what I desire most is for you to become more CREATIVE."
Being creative taps into the brain's ability to focus. True focus requires pure concentration, a quiet space where our brain needs to be "all hands on deck."
We live in a world of instant gratification. Creating art takes work. Creating requires one to be fully present.
