James Island Charter High School is a special place where teachers, parents, and administrators work hard to create an environment of high expectations for all students. Although students here come from a variety of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, they are all expected to achieve at the highest levels academic levels. Being a charter school gives teachers and administrators a great deal of autonomy to determine how best to serves the students. Many times, however, because the students are so highly achieving, we must be creative to find the money to fund projects that we want to do with them.
