I teach at a high school in North Carolina. Our school is rich with tradition, but we also value progress and new ideas. We have a very diverse population, and over half of our students receive free or reduced lunch.
I have the great joy of teaching two academic electives--Public Speaking and Creative Writing--as well as the introductory class Foundations of English 9 and the core class English 9. My students are extremely diverse, but I believe that through our work together, most of them develop a deeper appreciation and understanding of language and literature.
