I chose items that I can use to create a welcoming classroom for students during these unsure times, whether the classroom is based at home or at school which may switch in the middle of the year. Many of my students requested a fun, warm, visual classroom to return to. During the middle of COVID, I was moved to an older classroom that needs lots of love and lots of small appliances and decorations to feel like a classroom students want to spend time in. These will also help me be a more effective teacher with the ability to utilize tools for organization and technology changes that our district is now facing. These materials will allow me to create a classroom at home using cork boards and white boards that can also be transferred to my new classroom if I am required to move there for Zoom teaching. I also need updated tools to keep myself and students organized. As I build a home / school classroom, I chose aesthetically pleasing decorations because my students have requested them and said that it helps them focus, feel welcomed, and feel like they are back at school.
